A Little Off the Top

I got my haircut last Saturday. It was so nice to go somewhere without all the kids. Although, I felt like I was forgetting something when I was getting out of the car. OH! No kids to have to unbuckle...hee hee!

Anyway, I just wanted a trim and I thought I'd get it cut to just below my shoulders. Only, when the hairstylist started measuring, she said I almost had enough to donate to "locks for love" (I think that's what it's called). They require at least 10 inches. So I said just do it! So, my hair rests just on my shoulders now. A little shorter than I planned, but at least the rest is helping someone else. I really had no idea that my hair had gotten that long. It'll be long again very soon, I'm sure. My hair always grows really fast! Or maybe time passes so quickly that it seems to grow fast.

We should be closing on our townhouse on Monday! I'm so excited!!!

Lift Us Up Where We Belong

We are moving to Eagle Mountain, finally!!!! We have a contract on a townhouse there and should be settling within the next week or so. We are so excited to have finally found something that wasn't already under contract or would take a month to get into. Here's a picture of our new lovely abode:It is located on a golf course (the cart trail actually goes right behind our back door). I can't wait to get all our stuff out of storage and to finally feel like we have a home again. Thanks for thinking of us all these months!

The Great State of Utah

Well, I'm here in Utah....finally! It only took us 10 days - ugh! Don't ask.... There were some very memorable moments during our travels. Like when Aurora sat down at a table with an older man in Wyoming at a Taco Bell and told him he looked like Santa Clause.

Now we're staying with friends of the family until we can solve our housing issue. It's been great! They are such a sweet couple and they've given us notice that we should make ourselves at home. Aurora has taken that advice to heart. Today she started exploring the bedrooms upstairs and asking the wife who had the "messy" bedroom. Then, she asked the husband which room he slept in and when he told her she got a thoughtful look on her face and then replied, "You sleep with your mom?" She's also started stashing her candy wrapper "collection" in Brother Memmott's office so that I won't throw them away and she's on first name basis with their dog, Daisy. Also, I think she's taken over the rocker upstairs as her own personal seat. Hopefully, she won't get us kicked out anytime soon. (Just kidding!)

So, tomorrow is another day of house hunting! Yippee! Wish us luck!

Happy Trails to You

I have been packing and packing and packing until I hear tape being ripped in my sleep. My fingers are dried out and I'm having nightmares about boxes chasing me.......My only consolation is that I don't have to unload the truck when it arrives in Utah!!!

We will be leisurely making our way across the country in a few days. I can't believe the day is finally here! We leave Saturday morning with stops planned in West Virginia, Indiana, Nebraska and Colorado. I only hope my nerves survive 5 days of driving with all 3 kids. Thank goodness my mother-in-law is here helping and planning on driving with us. She's lucky though - if she takes out her hearing aids she won't hear the kids screaming in the car. Well, she'll probably hear them, but not as loud as I will. Maybe I'll stock up on cotton balls and just stuff them in there for a few hours everyday. Any other suggestions (no murdering, please)? :)

Wish us luck on our "happy" trek to Utah!!!

Birthday Wishes

Aurora had her 5th birthday this week! She picked out a crocodile cake pattern online that she wanted. Since we already had the pink cake and pink frosting, we ended up with a pink crocodile. Very festive, huh? Anyhow, she had a great little party with a couple of her friends, Ally and Cora. She ended up getting her presents over a period of 4 days because she found one of them that I'd tried to hide and since I didn't want to make her birthday a miserable thing where all she remembered was having to WAIT for her gifts, I gave in and gave her a couple a day. It was nice to draw out her birthday instead of having one crazy day where she wanted to play with ALL of her gifts at the same time. This way, she had time to actually play with and enjoy all of her gifts.
